A criminal defense attorney from suburban Detroit is $500,000 richer after capping a run of perfect picks throughout the NFL season on Sunday.

Wade Fink of West Bloomfield clinched victory in Hollywood Casino at Greektown’s season-long survivor pool when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shut out the Carolina Panthers on the final Sunday of the regular season. In survivor pools, contestants pick one team to win straight up each week, but must select a different team each week.

According to CBS News, Fink was the only remaining contestant heading into the final week of the competition, but upped his winnings from $39,500 to $500,000 by winning an extra prize for going undefeated on the season with Tampa’s victory.

‘Biggest sweat of my life’

On X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Fink, pictured wearing an orange Bucs sweatshirt, wrote, “We did it. Thanks for all the love and sharing in the biggest sweat of my life. The money is great, obviously, but going nuts over this — strategy, math, excitement — for weeks and weeks with people I know, and don’t know, was so epic.”

While Fink’s win was indeed epic, it paled in comparison to the $9.27 million that was split evenly by the four winners of the Circa Survivor NFL pool in Las Vegas on Sunday
