It’s “fore!” for theScore, and a fifth for the PGA Tour, and a first for Canada, and if you’ll give us two or three seconds to explain …
Score Media and Gaming has become an official betting operator of the PGA Tour, making it the fifth sportsbook to sign up for that distinction with the PGA. As part of the deal, theScore becomes the first betting partner for the PGA in Canada.
“The PGA Tour has been an innovative, industry leader in sports betting and we’re excited to collaborate to enhance our integrated media and betting experience,” Aubrey Levy, theScore’s senior vice president of marketing and content said in a press release. “The PGA Tour is a proponent of leveraging media to create unique betting experiences and shares our view for the sizable potential of a regulated Canadian market. We’re proud to partner with the Tour as an Official Betting Operator immediately across the U.S., and in Canada as soon as legislation allows.”
The fate of single-event sports betting in Canada is inching toward completion, with the bill ready for a third and final hearing in front of the House of Commons. The date for that has yet to be determined.
Odds on tour
As part of the deal, the PGA will begin to use daily odds updates from theScore during live events as well as on other branded broadcasts. Additionally, theScore will have the opportunity to advertise with the PGA Tour.
“The PGA Tour is focused on engaging sports fans and Score Media and Gaming is one of the global leaders in delivering highly personalized scores, news, statistics and sports betting information,” Scott Warfield, vice president of gaming at the PGA Tour said in the release. “Leveraging theScore’s vast reach via this relationship will allow the Tour to engage fans in unique and creative ways.”
