Michiganders had a good day on Wednesday in the massive Powerball drawing, though an estimated $550 million jackpot was not hit.
The next drawing for Saturday has an estimated pot worth $640 million, according to the Powerball’s website.
Smaller prizes were recorded Wednesday, including three $1 million wins in Michigan. The locations were:
- Food Max Supermarket, 27333 Cherry Hill, Inkster
- Kroger #680, 1100 W Argyle St, Jackson
- Joe Hall Quick Stop Inc, 244 Joe Hall Dr, Ypsilanti
Other such wins were recorded in California, Georgia, Colorado, New York, and Texas. A winning $2 million ticket was sold in Virginia.
Michigan’s online lottery enables Michiganders to use their phones and computers to buy tickets for Powerball and Mega Millions, which itself stands at $750 million for its Friday night drawing.
The multi-state lottery jackpots have been growing since the fall. Both are within the top 10 in the history of U.S. lottery jackpots. Their combined value is reaching historic levels.
The record jackpot of nearly $1.6 billion came in 2016. A pot worth more than $1.5 billion was seen in 2018.
