The Michigan online casino world is now a baker’s dozen, as PointsBet and its partner, the Lac Vieux Desert tribe, went live on Tuesday, May 4 at 10 a.m. local time.

The company and the tribe also have a sportsbook that has been live since Jan. 22.

“The Lac Vieux Desert tribe becomes the 12th operator to offer both forms of online gaming after meeting all regulatory requirements,” said Richard S. Kalm, executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, in a press release. “The associated revenue payments will support K-12 education, economic development and the local tribal governing body.”

As it stands, Gun Lake Casino and its partner, Parx Interactive, offer a casino-only product for the time being as a 13th site.

The other online casinos are: BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, Barstool, Golden Nugget, William Hill, PokerStars, BetRivers, WynnBET, TwinSpires, and Four Winds. Additionally, Soaring Eagle and FireKeepers are expected to launch their online casinos sometime in 2021.

PointsBet has been making significant moves in its quest to be one of the state’s top sportsbooks, signing deals with the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Pistons great Rip Hamilton.
