The Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers have a new official gaming partner, as FanDuel Sportsbook has joined the fold for both teams.
Through its license with MotorCity Casino, FanDuel Sportsbook advertising will be featured throughout both Comerica Park and Little Caesars Arena, and also on both the Tigers and Red Wings radio networks.
“After a very successful launch in Michigan, we are excited to continue our momentum by partnering in this way with two of the most iconic sports organizations in the country,” Mike Raffensperger, the CMO of FanDuel Group, said in a press release.
Third deal for each team
For the Tigers, this is their third deal with an existing sportsbook. Last week, they announced a deal with BetMGM, and last year, they became the first MLB squad to sign a promotional agreement with a sportsbook when they linked with PointsBet.
But of all the sportsbook deals, both nationwide and in Michigan, FanDuel teaming up with the Tigers and the Red Wings is at the top of the synergy pile, as the Ilitch family owns not only the baseball and hockey teams, but also FanDuel’s Michigan partner in MotorCity.
And previously to this deal, both clubs had entered into marketing agreements with MotorCity’s brick-and-mortar FanDuel sportsbook, which opened in March 2020. Little Caesars Arena is home to the MotorCity Casino Club, where fans — when it’s safe to do so, coronavirus restrictions being what they are — can take part in VIP experiences. At Comerica Park, the partnership features the MotorCity Casino Tiger Club and the MotorCity Casino Hotel “Off Ramp Bar.”
