All right, all you Detroit Lions fans. Yes, it was a tough year, though there are breaks in the clouds. The squad looked decent to finish up the season, and with yet another top draft pick — and possibly no Aaron Rodgers to contend with — the Lions’ 2022 season might be looking good.
Of course, you still have to get through the remainder of the 2021 season, which culminates with the Super Bowl on Feb. 13. And sure, Detroit’s own Eminem will be performing during the halftime show, but it has to sting a bit to see your former franchise quarterback, Matthew Stafford, one game away from hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy for another team.
Well, DraftKings is seeking to give you another reason to tune in for the Big Game in what is an unprecedented promotion: The sportsbook is doling out $10 million in free bets to use that day — including five million-dollar bets.
To be eligible for this offer, would-be million-dollar bettors need to opt-in to the promotion on the DraftKings Sportsbook app before Super Bowl Sunday at 2 p.m. EST, and then log back in at 7 p.m. EST to see if there is a million-dollar free bet sitting in your account.
Live bet, anyone?
Worth noting: Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., which means those clever suits at DraftKings are forcing you to log in after the game has already started, no doubt hopeful you’ll place a live bet or two while there.
To be clear: The winners of the million-dollar free bets have to use them on the Super Bowl, and at maximum odds of +300. The bet has to be placed on the point spread, moneyline, or total points, and no alternate lines are going to be allowed.
Winners of the other free bets — they will be in increments of $200, $100, $50, and $10 — can bet on any market offered during the game.
A chance to bet a million on Stafford leading the Rams to victory — or a million on Stafford choking and giving the game to the Bengals — will be in the cards for five lucky bettors. Karma demands a few Michiganders get in on the party.
