With the countdown to legalized online sports betting hitting the 24-hour mark, the Detroit Pistons have teamed up with yet another sportsbook.
“Michiganders love their home state NBA team and the Detroit Pistons have a rich history, winning the NBA Championship three times,” Richard Schwartz, president of RSI, said in a statement. “This partnership combines two organizations that share an unwavering commitment to excellence in providing sports fans with unparalleled experiences, and BetRivers.com is proud to be an official sportsbook partner of this well-respected franchise.”
The multi-year partnership will include a free game, called “Fan Pick’em,” which will be available on the Pistons app and which will feature competitions and free prizes.
Additionally, when Pistons fans visit BetRivers.com, they’ll be greeted with exclusive team-themed prizes and experiences, according to the release. As part of the deal, BetRivers will be granted permission to use the Pistons’ logos in their marketing materials.
Pistons are wheeling and dealing
In addition to their partnership with BetRivers, the Pistons also have marketing and promotional agreements with PointsBet — which recently hired former Pistons star Rip Hamilton to help promote the brand — as well as with FanDuel and DraftKings, deals which were first signed back in November.
After a long, winding, and sometimes torturous road, online sports betting and online casino gaming will go live in Michigan on Friday at noon, with 10 operators ready to roll out of the starting gate.
